Young & Rubicam to Purchase Firm: Landor Associates, a San Francisco-based image-consulting management firm, has agreed to be purchased by advertising giant Young & Rubicam. As a result of the acquisition, Donald M. Casey, Young & Rubicam design and sales promotion chairman, will become Landor’s president and chief executive, replacing John M. Diefenbach. Diefenbach will move to Y&R; as director of corporate development. Company founder Walter Landor will remain as chairman.
