‘Clear a Lane to Palmdale’

Clear a lane to Palmdale? We don’t have a lane to clear. I empathize with Epstein; Los Angeles does need a new airport, or another viable solution, but let’s handle this in a responsible manner.
Highway 14 is a commuter’s nightmare, most of it being only two lanes. An estimated 40,000 travel it daily to jobs in the San Fernando Valley, Century City, Malibu and other destinations.
Consider this, for the third year in a row Palmdale came up as the fastest growing city in the state. Unfortunately, state officials, I hazard a guess, haven’t read the stats, because they should have started planning for freeway expansion two years ago.
Sorry, Mr. Epstein, but before you send an airport up here, you better cut a deal with Caltrans.
