CS Fullerton Seeking a Division I Win

Cal State Fullerton, still looking for its first victory against a Division I team this season, will play San Diego State at 7:05 tonight in San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium.

Fullerton, which turned the ball over seven times in a 42-14 loss to Colorado State last week, is 1-2. The win was over Cal State Northridge, a Division II team.

“I think we’ve played hard, but we’ve made so many mistakes,” Fullerton Coach Gene Murphy said.

The Aztecs, coming off a 28-25 loss to UCLA in the final minutes last week, are 0-2.

“Everybody thinks we will win (this) football game,” San Diego State Coach Al Luginbill said. “I just want to win a football game. We need to sing our fight song in the locker room, which is what we do when we win. We know it; we just haven’t had a chance to sing it.”
