Arroyo Grande 19, Royal 12--Arroyo Grande fullback Jay Wells scored on runs of 36 and two yards to lead the Eagles to the win. Wells’ second touchdown gave Arroyo Grande a 13-12 lead with 9:19 left. Brian Huss capped the scoring for the Eagles with a one-yard run with 2:52 left.
Royal’s Tim Ross recovered a fumble and returned it 20 yards for the Highlanders’ first touchdown and Sean Mitchell ran 29 yards on a reverse for the other. Both came in the second quarter.
