Camarillo 20, Hueneme 0--Junior tailback Brian Vellmure and a stingy defense led the Scorpions (1-2) at Hueneme (0-3). Vellmure scored on a five-yard run on Camarillo’s first possession and the Scorpions led, 7-0, at halftime.
Camarillo controlled the ball on the ground in the second half, gaining 250 of its 345 yards after intermission.
Vellmure carried 26 times for 162 yards, and junior quarterback Corey Tucker rushed eight times for 45 yards and two touchdowns, scoring on runs of one and 30 yards. Tucker also completed three of seven passes for 52 yards.
