Lester Hill has been named president of Symbol Technologies Inc.’s Portable Data Systems Division in Costa Mesa. The division, previously known as MSI Data until its acquisition by Symbol in November, 1988, makes portable, hand-held data terminals. Hill was formerly president and chief executive officer of Data Design Laboratories in Cucamonga. Before that, he headed TRW’s Electronic Components Group. In his 19-year career with TRW, Hill also headed its Optoelectronics Division.
Symbol Technologies, based in Bohemia, N.Y., manufactures hand-held laser scanners, portable data terminals and radio frequency devices.
