College Roundup : Irvine Shuts Out Chapman in Soccer

Darren Bedolla and John Gunderson scored in the second half to lead visiting UC Irvine to a 2-0 nonconference men’s soccer victory over Chapman College Wednesday. Irvine’s Jeff Pene assisted on both goals.
Irvine is 2-3, Chapman is 1-2-2.
In nonconference volleyball:
UC Irvine 3, Virginia Tech 0--Kim Collins had 13 kills, leading visiting Irvine to a 15-3, 15-6, 15-7 sweep. Irvine is 4-2; Virginia Tech 8-3.
