The non-title fight between former heavyweight champion George Foreman and Bash Ali scheduled for tonight was canceled after Ali backed out of the bout, according to a spokesman for the cable network that planned to televise the fight.
Ali had agreed Tuesday to fight Foreman. He then failed to show up for his physical, but said he still wanted to fight, said Rob Correa, director of sports programming for the USA Network.
“Then today, he decided he didn’t want to fight Foreman, and we couldn’t get another opponent,” Correa said.
