Love of Coeur

With reference to Jerry Hulse’s Coeur d’Alene feature article, I was puzzled by his impressions of the area. I was born and raised in Sandpoint and although I no longer live there, I was surprised to learn I lived in a village, and that no mention is made of Lake Pend Orielle. If Hulse had looked around a little, he would have noted the grandeur and size of the lake. Lake Coeur d’Alene would fit nicely into just one end of it.

Editor’s Note: Lake Pend Oreille was mentioned in the story. It is the scenic location of the Garden restaurant, where “couples with stardust in their eyes hold hands and sip wine.”
