Oxnard 27, Camarillo 0--Johnel Turner hit Jay Alvarez with a 62-yard scoring strike midway through the fourth quarter to cap the Yellowjacket win at Camarillo.
Turner connected on three of 10 pass attempts for 101 yards and rushed for 33 yards in eight carries and scored two touchdowns. Fullback Bryant Taylor led Oxnard with 85 yards and scored on a 15-yard run in the second quarter.
Oxnard scored on its first three possessions on drives of 43, 33 and 24 yards. Mitch Watkins celebrated his 18th birthday by intercepting passes by Camarillo quarterback Matt Brimigion in each of the Scorpions’ first two possessions. Watkins finished the game with three interceptions and 77 yards in returns. Turner also intercepted a pass and kicked three extra points.
Camarillo fullback Greg Exler had a team-high 63 yards in 18 carries.
