Ralphs Grocery Co.: The Los Angeles-based firm, which operates 138 supermarkets in Southern California, posted a second-quarter loss of $5.6 million. Ralphs was recapitalized during 1988, so comparable figures are not available. Sales totaled $588.2 million, up 7%. The firm, a unit of Campeau Corp., attributed the results in part to its new store and remodeling program and efficient support facilities.
