IN BRIEF : Kings Send Crossman to Islanders in Deal That Brought Hrudey to L.A.

Los Angeles Kings General Manager Rogie Vachon today announced that the Kings have sent veteran defenseman Doug Crossman to the New York Islanders. This completes the future considerations portion of the Feb. 22 trade that brought goalie Kelly Hrudey to the Kings. The Islanders also received defenseman Wayne McBean and goalie Mark Fitzpatrick in the trade.
Crossman, 28, is an eight-year NHL defenseman who was acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers for Jay Wells on Sept. 29, 1988. In his one season with the Kings, Crossman played in 74 games and scored 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points with 53 penalty minutes.
