A Florida investor has acquired a 5.1% share of the Boston Celtics, according to a securities filing made public. But a spokesman for the National Basketball Assn. team said the purchase has no significance beyond a sports fan seeking a good investment.
David Rhodin Murphey III, president of Tampa-based Murphey Capital Inc., disclosed that he bought just under $4 million worth of Celtic shares.
