Live Entertainment Inc.’s 1st-Quarter Profit Doubles

Live Entertainment Inc. said its profit more than doubled in the first quarter that ended March 31 to $1.6 million from $635,000 a year earlier. Revenue for the Newbury Park company, which produces films on videocassettes, rose 8% from the year-earlier period to $74.6 million. Carolco Pictures owns 49% of Live Entertainment.
