El Monte : School Board Member Quits
Robert Young, who has served on the Mountain View School District Board of Education for the past 19 years, has announced that he will step down at the end of May, five months before his term ends.
Young said he will move out of the district before November. By law, board members must live within the district. The 64-year-old graphics engineer plans to retire in July and move to Whittier.
The board will fill Young’s seat by appointing a successor, who in turn must either step down at the end of the term or run for election in November.
