Pacific Coast League Baseball : Helm’s Grand Slam Paces Laguna Hills to 16-4 Victory

Mike Helm’s grand slam in the top of the sixth innning helped Laguna Hills High School to a 16-4 Pacific Coast League victory over host Laguna Beach Friday.
Helm’s slam broke a 4-4 tie as Laguna Hills (20-4 overall, 12-1 in league play) scored five runs in the sixth and seven in the seventh.
Aaron Scheid had three hits and an RBI for Laguna Beach (7-13, 3-9).
Orange 8, Costa Mesa 0--John Emigh (5-1) pitched a three-hitter, striking out three, for Orange (13-10, 8-5) at Costa Mesa. Jesus Romo had two hits and two RBIs for the Panthers. Costa Mesa is 5-16 and 4-9.
Trabuco Hills 3, Woodbridge 0--Ryan Maridith (4-1) pitched a four-hitter and struck out eight Trabuco Hills. John Shetland was two for four with two runs scored and Frank Waugh was one for two with two RBIs for Trabuco Hills (14-5, 11-2).
