Hurrah for Lowbrow

Re “Academy Steps In to Review Oscar Ceremony,” by Nina J. Easton, April 29):
The big deal about how much lowbrow entertainment should be allowed in the Oscar ceremonies seems a bit ludicrous. It’s not quite like the Queen of England conferring knighthood, for crying out loud. It’s just a bunch of movie awards for acting, etc.
The alternative to “lowbrow” would be “highbrow”; and just who would watch that?
