Billups to Defend Title in Country Club Bout

California heavyweight champion Levi Billups of Quail Valley will defend his title Monday night against Lionel Washington of Bakersfield in a scheduled 12-round bout at the Country Club in Reseda.
Billups (14-3) won the title June 20 with a fifth-round knockout of Mike White at the Irvine Marriott. Washington (10-4) fought former top-ranked heavyweight contender Renaldo Snipes in his most recent bout, losing on a TKO in the sixth round.
The card begins at 7:30 p.m.
