Korenstein as School Board Member
The article by Sam Enriquez “Korenstein Runs a Gantlet of Criticism” (Jan. 8) about Julie Korenstein’s performance on the Board of Education during the last two years brings me to only one conclusion: She is not capable of handling the job. Even her fellow board members, including those whose philosophy agrees with her, refuse to comment on her performance.
An elected official should represent the voters of their area, not special interest groups, i.e. the teachers’ union. Children are being bused past the closed schools in their neighborhoods into overcrowded facilities due to the ineffectual job Korenstein is doing.
It is time that the San Fernando Valley gets the type of board member that the children deserve.
