Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini blusters and everyone caves in. Bookstores take Salman Rushdie’s novel “The Satanic Verses” off their shelves.
The State Department is “appalled.”
Our secretary of state thinks it’s “regrettable.”
What wimps! Whatever happened to standing tall?
Next thing, Khomeini will demand that American women go veiled.
May the great goddess save us from all religious fanatics.
