Cup Tickets Will Be Sold at Sports Arena

Tickets for the United States-France Davis Cup tennis match April 7-9 will be sold at the Sports Arena and its outlets beginning March 1, it was announced Thursday.
Tickets had been on sale at San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium. Officials said they will process all orders made at the stadium, but starting today, tickets will no longer be available there.
Officials also announced that the doubles match, originally scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, has moved to 5 p.m.
Capacity for the matches at the Sports Arena will be 13,500.
David Stewart shook off first-set losses in both No.1 singles and doubles (with Mark Farren) to lead the University of San Diego past visiting Air Force, 7-2. USD (8-1) is ranked 21st by the Intercollegiate Tennis Coaches Assn. Air Force is 6-1.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Ninth-ranked Pepperdine defeated No. 19 San Diego State, 7-2, in Malibu. Kristin Hill and Michelle Apra were the only winners for the Aztecs, who have dropped three matches in a row.
BASEBALL
UC San Diego pitcher Rick Rupkey (3-0) allowed his first earned run this season, ending a scoreless-innings streak of 27, but the Tritons still won, 9-1. Both teams are 5-3.
