Ropak Corp.’s net income for 1988 totaled a record $2.9 million, 86% higher than the $1.6 million reported for 1987. Revenue rose 29% to $88.8 million from the $69 million posted a year earlier. Net income for the fourth quarter increased 30% to $493,000 from the $378,000 reported for last year’s comparable period. Revenues rose 21% to $21.6 million from $17.9 million. Ropak’s chairman and chief executive, William H. Roper, attributed the higher earnings to improved plant efficiencies and to quickly passing through raw material price increases. Ropak, based in Fullerton, makes plastic packaging and handling products for foods, coatings and a variety of agricultural and industrial materials.
