SEC Upheld: The Supreme Court rejected a prominent stockbroker’s challenge to the power of the Securities and Exchange Commission to crack down on fraud. The court, without comment, left intact rulings that Meyer Blinder and the brokerage firm he founded, Blinder, Robinson & Co., say unfairly restrict their business activities. The case stems from a civil SEC enforcement action in 1980 against Blinder and his firm.
