Whittier Edges Past Occidental, 98-96

Brett Dennis’ career-high 26 points were not enough to lift Occidental College on Monday night in a Southern California Athletic Conference game at Whittier. The Tigers (15-9, 5-4 in conference), led by 14 with 11 minutes to play but slipped and lost, 98-96.

Glendale 90, West L.A. 80--Dave Swanson’s 26 points paced the visiting Vaqueros in their Western State Conference finale.
BASEBALL
UC Riverside 15, The Master’s 8--Craig Johnson, Mark MacArthur and Tony Jamie each homered for the Mustangs in a losing cause at The Master’s.
Pasadena 5, Pierce 2--Doug Johns’ ninth inning home run was not enough to save visiting Pierce.
Mission 11, Antelope Valley 10--Ken Meyer singled in the winning run in the tenth inning.
