Seven people were killed and 307 were injured when a temporary bullring packed with more than 3,000 spectators collapsed in the Colombian town of Honda, 70 miles west of Bogota, the capital, witnesses said. Ramiro Lozano, Red Cross director for Tolima province, said 30 of the injured were hospitalized in serious condition. A journalist from the RCN radio station who was reporting live on the bullfight Saturday said the structure, made of metal scaffolding and heavy wooden planks, collapsed in a matter of seconds. Witnesses claimed there were up to 3,500 spectators in the arena, which can normally accommodate 2,500 people, and that the structure had been hastily set up. Authorities launched an investigation.
