Japan Is Colorful in the Springtime
Springtime is one of the most colorful times to visit Japan, according to the Japan National Tourist Organization.
In March and April the cherry and plum trees are in full bloom across the nation.
While the cherry blossoms are usually at their loveliest in the first 10 days of April, the tourist office says the heartier plum blossoms begin blooming in late February and continue through March.
The tourist organization suggests that spring visitors to Japan take advantage of hanami, cherry blossom viewing parties that include picnic lunches, singing and dancing, and often last well into the evening.
