CSUN Softball Team Takes Chico Title

Debbie Dickmann struck out five and did not allow a run in 2 2/3 innings of relief as the Cal State Northridge softball team recorded a rain-shortened, four-inning, 5-1 victory over San Francisco State in the championship game of the Chico tournament Saturday.
The game was abbreviated by mutual consent.
In CSUN’s first game Saturday, Dickmann (6-2) allowed three hits in a 3-0 semifinal victory over Humboldt State.
In the second inning of the final, the junior right-hander relieved Heather Lindstrom with two runners on base and retired the side on two strikeouts.
Char Schmitt was two for two and had three runs batted in to pace the Lady Matadors in the final.
Northridge (8-4) went 6-0 in the three-day tournament.
