Funding has been approved by the Community Redevelopment Agency for two shelter projects in the Central City East area for the city’s homeless.
The board approved a $300,600 loan for the St. Vincent DePaul Shelter to help complete a 70-bed day facility at 231 Winston St. and $58,034 in operating funds for the Los Angeles Men’s Place (known as LAMP), an 18-bed day shelter for the mentally ill homeless.
The funds will keep that center, at 627 S. San Julian St., in operation until June 30.
