MADRID — Argentine Foreign Minister Dante Caputo met with Spanish Prime Minister Felipe Gonzalez on Saturday for talks on Latin American debt problems.
Caputo told reporters after the meeting that industrialized countries had failed to examine the dangers of the debt problem for Latin America’s newly restored democracies.
“They should be interested for reasons of self-interest,” he said. “A more interdependent system is being created. No one can travel in first class in comfort on a plane if a second-class passenger has a bomb in his hand.”
