4 Die, 60 Hurt as Fire Hits Residential Hotel

DETROIT — A fire ripped through an aging residential hotel early Friday, killing four people and injuring nearly 60 others, including four police officers, authorities said.
Fire officials said it appears the four-alarm blaze started in an apartment on the first floor of the Billinghurst Hotel, forcing many trapped residents to jump from upper-story windows. The blaze was under investigation.
