Seagram Co. Ltd., Montreal, has appointed Edgar Bronfman Jr. president and chief operating officer, effective July 1. He succeeds David G. Sacks, who has been named vice chairman. On July 1, Sacks assumes the office of president of the United Jewish Appeal-Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York. Edgar Bronfman Jr. was named last summer to the new position of executive vice president-U.S. operations.
