Gibson Doesn’t Need Surgery

Dodger outfielder Kirk Gibson, the National League’s Most Valuable Player last season, has tendinitis in his sore right knee but does not need surgery, the team announced Tuesday.
Dr. Frank Jobe, Dodgers’ team physician, examined Gibson and said the power-hitting outfielder has tendinitis of the adductor tendons. Jobe expects Gibson to regain full strength in the knee by the end of spring training.
