A public drawing by the city clerk’s office held Friday to determine the order of candidates’ names on the April 11 ballots produced this un-alphabetical list:
1.K 8.J 15.C 22.T 2.G 9.E 16.M 23.X 3.F 10.L 17.O 24.W 4.R 11.I 18.H 25.Z 5.B 12.N 19.S 26.Q 6.D 13.V 20.P 7.A 14.Y 21.U
Thus, a candidate named King, for example, would be listed ahead of candidates named Green, who would be listed ahead of Ford, and so forth.
Signature verification on candidates’ nominating petitions was completed today.
MAYOR’S RACE

CAMPAIGN QUIP
“You look at the Warner Ridges and the light rails and all those kinds of things, and those are all dealing with people’s desires and wants. But when you look at the human needs of food and shelter, those are needs, and we have to address those before we address too many wants.”
--Paul McKellips, a San Fernando Valley business executive and a long-shot challenger to 3rd District Councilwoman Joy Picus, after spending two nights on Skid Row to learn about homelessness.
