Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.’s 1988 net income fell 55% to $350.1 million. The Akron, Ohio-based company noted that the previous year’s net income included $257 million from discontinued Goodyear Aerospace, Motor Wheel and Celeron Oil & Gas subsidiaries. Revenue totaled $10.8 billion, up from 9%. The company also said competitive pressure in the domestic tire markets contributed to reduced earnings.
