California Defeats Irvine in Volleyball

California lost the first game, then rallied to defeat UC Irvine in five games Sunday in a nonconference men’s volleyball match at Irvine.
The Bears won, 6-15, 15-5, 15-9, 12-15, 15-7.
Andrew Katsman had 24 kills and Justin Cox had 19 for the Bears (7-1). David Pettker had 25 kills and Steve Florentine 21 for Irvine (3-10).
