Los Angeles police Thursday asked that anyone who can provide information about the Jan. 21 shooting of a college student at a bus stop at 3rd and Rossmore streets in the Hancock Park area contact the department’s Wilshire Division.
Pedro Gacayan, an 18-year-old Los Angeles City College freshman, died after he was shot in the chest during an apparent robbery, said a witness, whom police did not identify.
The witness told police that the suspects were three male Latino youths, Detective John McCarley said. The suspects ran south on Rossmore Street, got into a white medium-size American car and sped south on Rossmore, McCarley said.
Gacayan had finished work at a video store on Larchmont Street and was on his way home when he was shot, police said.
Anyone with information should contact homicide detectives at (213) 485-4033.
