The Israeli-backed South Lebanon Army ambushed guerrillas attempting to sneak into Israel and killed three, a spokesman for the militia said. The guerrillas were spotted before dawn trying to infiltrate into Israel near the Lebanese village of Srobbine, 6 miles north of the Israeli border, the spokesman said. The militia also expelled four Lebanese from Israel’s self-declared security zone, just north of the Israeli border, Lebanese police said. Most of those deported allegedly refused to cooperate with Israeli-sponsored administrations in their villages or defied orders to join the South Lebanon Army. They were sent north of the Israeli-held zone.
