Four students won free trips to Spain in an essay contest to commemorate Spain’s participation in the festivities marking the 75th anniversary of the city of Beverly Hills.
Students were asked to write essays on the “significance of our Spanish heritage.” A total of 149 students competed.
Winners were Nancy Rennett, a third-grader; Justin Brooks, a fifth-grader; Sara Myers, a seventh-grader, and Samantha Weinstein, an 11th-grader.
Each winner received three round-trip tickets to Madrid on Iberia Airlines, which co-sponsored the contest with the Spanish Consulate.
