Singer-actress Madonna and her estranged husband Sean Penn are settling divorce proceedings amicably without a messy court battle, court documents show. The Los Angeles County Superior Court petition to dissolve the stormy three-year marriage cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, and sought restoration of the singer’s former name, Madonna Ciccone. It also said community property and financial obligations shared by the couple “have been disposed of by written agreement.” No details were disclosed in the two-page petition filed Jan. 25.
