Funeral services are scheduled Thursday for Les Erickson, a Thousand Oaks off-road race car driver who died Saturday after suffering a massive heart attack during the SCORE Parker 400 in Parker, Ariz.
Erickson, 43, who earlier this month celebrated his 20th anniversary as a Ventura County firefighter, swerved to the side of the road 22 miles into the race after complaining of dizziness and a numb jaw.
A service will take place at 10 a.m. at First Christian Church in Thousand Oaks. There also will be an honor guard and a procession of fire department vehicles.
Erickson is survived by wife Judy, daughter Connie, 22, and son Ty, 14.
