‘Dixie’ Drives Georgia Senators From Chamber

ATLANTA — Three black legislators abruptly left the Senate chamber Friday when a beauty queen sang “Dixie.”
Sens. Arthur Langford, Horace Tate and Gary Parker quickly filed out a side door at the beginning of the performance by Lisa Ray, niece of Sen. Walter Ray and winner of the Miss Georgia Sweet Potato Queen contest.
