It’s Difficult to Cushion an Embarrassing Blow

Jim Murray’s column (Jan. 5) on the Rose Bowl and sportsmanship was right on. The TV cameras showed us at-home types the USC fans throwing the cushions on the field after Michigan’s go-ahead touchdown.
We were ashamed of their performance.
