Pacific 10 Roundup : Lichti’s Shot Gives Stanford 71-69 Win Over Huskies

Todd Lichti rebounded a missed shot and scored with 2 seconds left to give Stanford a 71-69 Pacific 10 Conference basketball victory over Washington Thursday night at Seattle.
Lichti scored 21 of his 28 points in the second half as Stanford (11-3 overall, 4-1 in the Pac-10) rallied from a 10-point first-half deficit.
Dion Brown gave Washington (4-8, 1-3) a 69-69 tie by making 2 free throws with 7 seconds left, after Andrew Vlahov’s 3-pointer with 30 seconds remaining gave Stanford its first lead since 10 minutes into the game.
Eldridge Recasner, who had 23 points, made 2 3-pointers as Washington scored 14 straight points for a 26-16 lead.
Arizona 85, Oregon State 64--Anthony Cook had 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Jud Buechler scored 17 points as the 12th-ranked Wildcats overcame an early 11-point deficit and routed the Beavers at Tucson.
Oregon State (9-4, 2-3) hit 8 of its first 9 shots and had a 15-4 lead, but Arizona (10-2, 5-1) got even, 22-22, on a layup by Sean Rooks after dunks by Sean Elliott and Cook.
The Wildcats held a 42-32 halftime lead and broke away with a 17-7 surge to start the second half.
Gary Payton scored 25 points for Oregon State.
Arizona State 72, Oregon 70--Trent Edwards scored 26 points, including a layup with 1 second left, to give the Sun Devils the victory at Tempe, Ariz.
The Sun Devils (8-5, 2-3) had a 67-59 lead with 2:38 remaining, only to see Oregon (6-7, 1-2) forge a 68-68 tie on a 9-1 run capped by Keith Reynolds’ 2 free throws.
California 63, Washington State 62--Roy Fisher scored 17 points, and the Bears held off the Cougars at Pullman, Wash.
Reco Rowe hit his fourth 3-pointer of the game to get Washington State (6-7, 1-3) close with 4 seconds left, but Cal (12-4, 3-2) inbounded the ball and held on.
