Two members were appointed this week to the committee responsible for organizing a nonprofit corporation to operate West Hollywood’s planned $1.2-million comprehensive center for the homeless.
Gabe Kruks, program director for the Los Angeles Area Gay and Lesbian Services Center, and Fred Mashian, a representative of the West Hollywood Small Business Council, were appointed Monday by the City Council.
The appointments leave one opening on the 10-member steering committee. The council is expected to appoint a representative of the Chamber of Commerce to the panel on Oct. 3.
The committee is to make recommendations on articles of incorporation and bylaws and is expected to influence who is appointed to the corporation’s board of directors.
City officials have said they hope to have the board in place early next year.
