The Aug. 29 Times contained an excellent editorial, “Metro Rail Milestone.”
The article did, however, contain an inaccuracy, which needs correction and clarification. The July selection of the Locally Preferred Alternative through Hollywood to the Valley, was made not by the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission but by the RTD Board. SCRTD is solely responsible for planning, constructing and operating Metro Rail. LACTC with whom the district has a funding relationship, currently plans and manages our area’s light rail construction.
