Sophomore Antiwaun Carter rushed for 158 yards in 21 carries and scored 2 touchdowns in his first varsity game to lead Kennedy to a 16-10 win over Hamilton in a nonleague game at Kennedy.
Carter’s one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, which gave Kennedy a 16-0 lead, was set up by Darrin Evans’ interception at the Hamilton 25-yard line.
Jason Rosen’s 43-yard field goal in the first quarter gave Kennedy a 3-0 lead.
Jay Fields, who rushed for 79 yards in 12 carries, scored all of Hamilton’s points on a one-yard touchdown run, an extra point and an 18-yard field goal.
Hamilton was driving with less than two minutes to play, but defensive linemen Mike Choi and Ryan McGragh recorded consecutive sacks to kill the drive and ensure the Kennedy victory.
Kennedy matched its victory total of last season.
