Lab President Charged in Medical Waste Case

NEW YORK — The president of a laboratory was arrested Friday and charged with illegally throwing medical waste in a trash bin outside the office, authorities said.
A surveillance of the medical lab uncovered garbage bags containing hypodermic needles and syringes, blood vials and other medical waste, Brooklyn Dist. Atty. Elizabeth Holtzman said.
Marvin Numeroff, 58, and his company, Universal Diagnostic Corp., were charged with 21 misdemeanor counts including second-degree reckless endangerment and violations of the public health law.
