Prince is embarking on his first major U.S. tour since the release of “Purple Rain” in 1984. A Warner Bros. label source said Wednesday that the Purple One will perform songs from every part of his career for this edition of his famed live shows. Details of the tour, which kicks off Sept. 14 in his hometown of Minneapolis, are not yet set, although a label spokeswoman said it will include all major cities. But the number of cities or dates have not yet been determined for the “open-ended” tour, and no Los Angeles dates have been set.
