Cal Thomas on ‘Christ’ Film
Even if Scorsese’s film is as blasphemous as the Fundamentalists claim, it can only serve as a tool to strengthen Christianity.
The protesters only expose their own insecurities and doubts by demanding the recall of the film. A true Christian would be no more influenced adversely by “Temptation” than he would a Hare Krishna parade.
By protesting, the Fundamentalists have succeed only in assuring the box-office success of the film they purport to decry.
