Police have conducted another house-to-house search for Charitie Cariens, who has been missing since Friday, Sgt. Anne O’Dell said Wednesday.
After receiving an anonymous tip concerning the 7-year-old, police set up a command post shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bayview Terrace Elementary School in Pacific Beach, O’Dell said. Police searched within a 2-block radius of the command post until about 1 a.m. Wednesday, coming up with nothing.
The girl had called home Friday night to tell her mother, Jane Lewis, she was staying the night with another family. The family said she had left their home earlier in the day.
Lewis later recalled that she had given her daughter permission to go on a trip to Mexico with a neighbor family. Police said they are still checking that lead.
